Hello and Welcome to our Family Blog!

Hey there! Welcome to our Family Blog! Thank you so much for visiting! We created this blog for anyone wanting to keep up with our family, The Resendez Family. Right now our family consists of Sergio, Reagan, and "Sweet Pea", our first child that we are expecting on August 31st, 2010! Sergio and Reagan have known each other since April 18, 2003, got engaged on February 13, 2007 and got married on April 12, 2008. We were shocked at first to find out that we were pregnant in December 2009, but now we are thrilled! Along with being excited, happy, nervous, scared, etc! Serg and I have always wanted to be parents and now our dreams are coming true!
Well, I am just now starting this blog and inviting people to read it, but we have known that I am pregnant since December! I found out pretty early on, when I was only four weeks pregnant. It was December 21, 2009 and I will never forget that day. It was the day that our lives changed forever! We were absolutely shocked and Serg didn't believe me at first. We thought maybe the home pregnancy test was wrong since I had never had a positive result before and it was the HEB two for $5.99 special! So, I went to my Doctor the next day and they were like "um yeah, home pregnancy tests are always right!" I was like "always? Okay!" They said "well, 99.9% of the time!" I still made them give me a blood test just to be sure! Even though they were laughing at me, they took my blood and called me within hours to confirm the news...I was pregnant! We were thrilled! We were finally going to be parents! I say "finally" only cause I am going to be almost 32 and Serg is going to be almost 39 when we have our first baby!
We had our first Doctor appt on January 5th but didn't get our first ultrasound done till January 21, when I was about eight weeks along. They said I was measuring about five days big, but they aren't going to change my due date of August 31st because anything within 5-7 days is within their margin of error. Seeing our "Sweet Pea" on the screen for the first time was amazing! I cried and cried cause you could see it's little heart beating! They said it had a very strong heartrate of 176! Oh yes, I must add my prediction for the gender of our baby. I always thought I was going to have three boys with Serg cause his brothers have all boys. But, ever since I saw the positive home pregnancy test, I thought girl! And then the Doctor said the heartrate was a very strong 176, I again thought girl because I heard that girls have a much higher heartrate than boys. Then, I looked at the Chinese Gender Chart and it said girl, as well! But, who really knows...I really don't care if we have a boy or a girl, I just want the baby to be healthy!
