Our lil "Sweet Pea" had her third biophysical profile on August 10th, 2010! We are so happy that she scored an 8 out of 8 again! They didn't take her measurements this time cause they did them last week and they said that since each tech measures a little differently and they have to account for a week's room for error, if this tech measured her smaller than last week, that would cause extreme anxiety for me. I agreed.
My amniotic fluid was on the low side of normal again. I was disappointed to hear this cause I tried to drink a lot more water this week even though the Dr had said it wouldn't affect it that much. He said being dehydrated can affect it a little but sometimes it just happens and since I drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day there is no way I am dehydrated.
The tech did alarm me when we were anxiously waiting to see "Sweet Pea" practice her breathing...She said "woah, that is so weird! Most babies take a few breaths and then wait a while before practicing their breathing again. Your baby takes one deep breath and then doesn't take another breath for a while. That is so unlike all other babies!" Great...I'm trying not to worry since she did practice her breathing again a little while later and they gave her the full 2 points that were possible for her breathing which got her to her overall score of 8 out of 8.
The Dr that does the biophysical profiles and my Dr both said that they will keep an eye on us and if anything doesn't look perfect from here on out they will induce early since I am past 37 weeks and considered full-term. Ah! We can't believe that our first child might be here at any time! We are SOO excited!!!
